"The Michigan Moose Association receives our heartfelt thanks for their overwhelming "Kickoff" donation of $50,000. towards the Chancellor Rehabilitation project at Moosehaven.

The Lodges and Districts of the Michigan Association hold a special project each year to raise funds for the Mooseheart/Moosehaven Special Project(s) accepted by the Association.  The revenue from the fundraiser is also used to help with special membership building programs for their Lodges and Chapters.

Sincerest thanks to the Executive Board and to the membership of Michigan. This is truly "fraternalism in action".

"Congratulations to Tallahassee FL Chapter 1103 on celebrating their 60th Anniversary.  This Chapter and its members can certainly be proud of their accomplishments through the years.  And, they clearly demonstrated their pride and love for our Mooseheart Child City and School by donating $5,000. to the Mooseheart Endowment Fund.

During the program, Gimme 5 District Chairmen R. D. & Linda White presented a Chapter check in the amount of $675. and a Lodge check in the amount of $2,590. - all from Gimme 5 donations from Chapter and Lodge members.

Special thanks to all who continue to give of their time, their talent and their financial means in behalf of Mooseheart and Moosehaven and our fraternal programs."

Good Morning, Jan -

I just wanted to share an inspirational "Gimme Five" story with you.

Last fall, at our State Conference, I showed the Co-workers of Minnesota my "This one's for _______", Gimme Five boxes. One co-worker from Maplewood Chapter #563, Mary Kiewatt, took 15 boxes, saying she was going to give them to her family members to fill. And, when Mary tells her family to do something, they usually do it!!! She is a lovely lady and a great mother and grandmother.

To make a long story short, I saw Mary at our Council of Higher Degrees meeting this past Saturday. She handed me two boxes, heavy with coins. One was from a daughter and the other was from her 9 year old grandson! He had chosen to fill it for 'Samuel' and had filled it with his own pennies - for a grand total of $4.11. What a kid!! I have made a thank-you note, with Samuel's picture on it, to send to him.

Now $4.11 may not seem like much when you look at the Big Picture. But, it is SO MUCH MORE than many of our members are doing! I plan on telling this story to everyone who will listen. Maybe it will inspire a few to give what they can to insure the future of our beloved Mooseheart and Moosehaven. It's sure worth a try.

Carolyn Allen, Gimme 5 Chairman, MN

Moose Riders donate to Mooseheart and Moosehaven at FL/BE Midyear Conference-

During the 4-24 to 4-26 Midyear Conference in Tampa, Fl, Riverview Moose Riders made donations to Mooseheart and Moosehaven from proceeds of their rally in early April. They are also contributing to a computer fund for Mooseheart students and donated 4 "trikes" to Moosehaven for its residents. Riverview, as well as our other Districts and Lodges, have been working so hard this year to raise money to achieve our statewide goals and I am so proud of their results. Jan, you are correct in saying they work very hard but also get to enjoy themselves while doing it. What a great combination. My goal with the newsletter is to keep this momentum going and I think it is working. I hope that I have a chance to say hello to you in Chicago where I'll be representing Macclenny WOTM and FBMA Moose Riders. Thank you for taking the time to read Pipes. .

Regards, Joan Fedora, Editor of Pipes Florida Moose Riders State Secretary
