“Great Idea”
Jan,
I just wanted to express to you that this was my first
time at Mooseheart and I truly believe the children
are our future. Through your eyes I have seen how important
the children are to you. I know the Gimme Five program
can and will work.
If everyone would keep that soda
bottle they throw in the trash and take it back to
the store, they won’t have to reach in their pockets
to get that nickel to put in that jar twice a day.
We have our members bring the bottles to us and we
will get the nickels for the children . Three days
of bottles gave us $17.00 – doesn’t sound like much
but, if all the Chapters and Lodges did this, it would
amount to $$$$$$$. I have started this again for our
Chapter and I know we will have over $500.00 if not
double by the end of the year. I know this ‘Bottles
for Mooseheart’ program will get even bigger. The store
wasn’t too happy when I took in the first 300 bottles.
The money that the large company got (Coke and Pepsi)
for deposits is in the millions and they get to keep
those funds because people throw the bottles away.
Well, I want a piece of those funds for Mooseheart.
