West Virginia Moose Association 'Leads the Way'. We are so very proud and grateful to the WVMA and its members for being the first Association to take on the responsibility of funding the annual operating costs of a Mooseheart Residence. This great Association has pledged $120,000 per fiscal year to their West Virginia Residence at Mooseheart.
We extend heartfelt thanks to Romney Lodge No. 1371 for donating $10,000 in memory of C. H. Jack Small and for dedicating the donation to the WV Residence as the first towards its $120,000 goal. Jack Small became a Loyal Order of the Moose member of Martinsburg Lodge No. 120 in June of 1978. He distinguished himself and his Lodge by rendering dedicated service as a Lodge Ritualist, State President, Pilgrim and Association Secretary from 1997 to 2004. Romney Lodge 1371, Martinsburg Lodge No. 120 and the West Virginia Moose Association , in remembrance of C. H. "Jack" Small's dedicated service, untiring loyalty and endless compassion.
On Saturday, May 22, following the Mooseheart Senior's Graduation and the Pilgrim conferral in the House of God, officers and chairmen of the WVMA presented two $1,000 donations to the WV Home - donated by St. Albans Lodge No. 868 and by a private donor.

Moose Riders are proud to report that on Sunday, May 16th, 2010, laptop computers and printers were presented to the Mooseheart class of 2010. It was very much a joint effort this year with participation from Moose Riders in 7 states. Once again, the St. Charles Lodge had an essay contest for the seniors, the 5 winners receiving not only a laptop donated by the St. Charles Moose Riders, but also gift cards. For the second year in a row, Florida Moose Riders held various events at Lodges as well as 2 state rallies in order to raise enough money to donate 14 laptops to the graduates.
Florida Moose Riders Joan Fedora and Charlie Titheridge were on hand to make the presentations as well as Moose Riders from Dorr, MI, and Carpentersville, IL, whose donations of 3 laptops each ensured that every graduating senior got one. But it didn’t stop there. Because of the joint efforts of Liza Chamberlain of St. Charles, Joan Fedora, and Dave McPhail of Copperas Cove, TX, and their relentless emailing asking Moose Riders in more than 16 states for help with the “Printer Fund”, generous donations were received from Moose Riders in Palymra, NY, Bullhead City, AZ, N. Hillsboro, FL, Ohio, Copperas Cove, TX, and Downers Grove, IL. This was enough money to purchase a printer for each student.
We are proud of this joint effort and congratulate every Moose Rider who was a part of making this happen again this year. Moose Riders are a big piece of the solution and we’ve already started working on laptops for the class of 2011.
Kickstands Up!—Joan Fedora, Florida Moose Riders State Secretary
Mooseheart Class of 2010 at the St. Charles Lodge.

Kudo’s and sincerest thanks to Don & Virginia Shelnutt, New Castle DE Lodge No. 1578 and Chapter No. 1418, for their outstanding efforts in bringing the message of the Gimme 5 Endowment Campaign to the Lodge and Chapter members. Don & Virginia are tireless in their efforts and are successfully securing new donors. Be it $5.00 or $50.00, these donors are giving what they can.
Thank you, Don & Virginia, for constantly talking about the Gimme 5 Endowment Campaign and for giving the members of New Castle DE Lodge and Chapter the opportunity to be a part of this great program.

Heartfelt thanks to two very special Lodges and Chapters of New York for the invitation to ‘meet and greet’ the members April 16, 17 and 18.
Montour Falls Lodge No. 426 and Chapter No. 1401 opened their doors and extended their friendship as well as their generosity. This very special group of members (all volunteers) worked diligently from early morning to late evening throughout the weekend to raise funds for Moose Charities. The rapport and teamwork was awesome. The Lodge and Chapter each donated $2,500 for a total of $5,000. The members opened their hearts and gave generously – personal donations totaling $672. – what a thrill and an honor it was to be with these members who have found the secret to having fun while working hard – for Mooseheart, Moosehaven and their community.
Penn Yan Lodge No. 2030 and Chapter No. 1519 hosted a ‘pig roast’ that was attended by over 400 members. This very special function was held to raise funds for Moose Charities in memory of Terry McMichael, former Administrator who was well-loved by all. The Moose Lodge was filled to capacity and the hospitality extended to everyone present was outstanding. Financial donations totaling $9,350. were received from Penn Yan Lodge & Chapter, Ithaca Lodge No. 666, Genesee Valley/Henrietta Lodge No. 2290 and Finger Lakes Lodge No .823.
To each of these very special Lodges and Chapters – and to the members who were present – you have my/our sincerest thanks

What a way to raise funds for our ‘kids’…
Sincerest thanks to Don Gilmer, Georgia Moose Legion Ambassador ’09-’10 – known to the members as “World-Wide Don” .. for his involvement in the following fundraiser..
A Red Rambler football helmet (signed by the Rambler team members) was auctioned at the Georgia Midyear Conference. The auction netted $2,030 which was sent to Moose Charities, earmarked for the Mooseheart football program.
Heartfelt thanks to both ‘World-Wide’ Don and David Smoot for being the successful winners of the helmet. They have a ‘gentlemen’s’ agreement to share custody of the helmet.
AND – each of these dedicated members are also members of the League of Guardians…
