Subject: Cradle Program
We are mailing two checks from Greenville PA Lodge 276 and Chapter 1890. Together they add up to $3153.35. When our Governor, Shawn Paddock, was advised of the program he notified our Senior Regent, Rosemary Rhoads, about it. At our monthly joint meeting the WOTM challenged the men as to who would contribute the most, women or men. The men accepted the challenge and away we went. We found that by asking the members to donate as they entered the lodge, after explaining where the money was going, and the competition that was being held, they were more than willing to contribute. This went on all through the month. Cradles were hung all over the Social Quarters. We never did say who would win what. Weekly we posted who was ahead, the men or the women. All that mattered was that the money was going to the endowment fund for our kids and seniors in honor of our founder, James Davis. The end results are what matters. By the way, the men contributed $1369.35, and the women contributed $1784.00.

Good Morning Paul-
To say 'thank you' seems so very little for the effort and imagination your Lodge and Chapter officers put into helping this program. Actually – Greenville Lodge & Chapter did exactly what we had hoped every Fraternal Unit would do…..ask the members to be a part of this very important effort. You did that – and you were tremendously successful.
Please extend my/our sincerest and heartfelt thanks to your membership. They have, indeed, given to help children and seniors who will be needing the security of our two communities in future years.
With warmest regards,
