SUBJECT: DONATION RECOGNITION
It has been the policy of Moose Charities to send a thank you letter for each donation received. This was done regardless of the amount of the donation. For example a $4 donation would generate a thank you letter to the donor.
Many donors are in agreement that in the interest of saving money, materials, and postage it would serve Moose Charities best to send a semi-annual statement to acknowledge all donations during that time for tax purposes.
Every donation is important and we take our stewardship of those monies seriously. After a long and exhaustive evaluation we have decided to change the policy as follows effective May 1, 2008.
- Gifts will be logged into our database when they are received. All gifts in amount of $250 or more will be immediately acknowledged with a “thank you” letter that will also serve as your “tax letter.”
- Gifts of less than $250 at one time will be acknowledged semi-annually with a statement and “thank you” letter in January and June.
