FAQ
- Why is Moose Charities so important to the future of our charitable interests at Mooseheart and Moosehaven?
- First, and perhaps most importantly, Moose Charities serves to centralize and coordinate all charitable fundraising activities. This means that Mooseheart and Moosehaven do not need to dedicate their staff or financial resources in the pursuit of charitable funding and can more fully concentrate on delivering quality services to our children and seniors. Other benefits include the coordination of fundraising efforts and the centralization of all fundraising processes. This significantly eases the burden and costs associated with compliance to charitable regulations and brings greater efficiency (i.e. reduced cost) to our fundraising processes.
- Does Moose Charities deduct an “administrative” or “handling fee” from my gift to Mooseheart or Moosehaven?
- No fee is deducted. You will be pleased to know that Moose Charities receives an annual operating grant from Moose International. This means that donors can specify where they want their dollars to go and confidently know that, whether used to benefit the children or the seniors, no portion of it will be used to offset the operating costs of Moose Charities.
- What else does Moose Charities have to offer donors?
- The professional staff of Moose Charities stands ready to assist donors who may be interested in planning gifts such as bequests, charitable trusts, charitable gift annuities and in helping them attain the fullest realization of their personal and charitable interests. Additionally, Moose Charities can offer expertise and support to Moose lodges, chapters, associations and other fraternal units who conduct fund-raising efforts. From staff guidance to “How to” booklets, Moose Charities is prepared to facilitate the fund-raising process at the grass roots level.
- Can my business donate to Mooseheart or Moosehaven through Moose Charities?
- Absolutely! As a public charity, Moose Charities can receive charitable gifts from all sources. To preserve the donor’s tax deduction, checks should be written directly to “Moose Charities” with the intended purpose designated in “Memo” section.
