Just the other week, I spoke with Mark Klein, Moose Legion Past International President in California, and we talked about all of the different donor programs that Moose Charities offers. Eventually, we got to talking about Veterans Walk. He is still amazed by the value of the program. The one-time donation of just $100 provides for a personalized engraved plaque and flag that gets displayed on the Mooseheart campus twice a year — every year.
During the weeks of Memorial Day and Veterans Day, the Mooseheart NJROTC displays all of the engraved plaques and American flags to honor or memorialize past or current Veterans–it’s a breathtaking display.
This unique program has grown over the years. We currently have over 1,100 individual plaques and 49 group of plaques that memorialize groups of Veterans. Semi-annually, more and more streets get adorned with these American flags and plaques, it is clear to see the potential space for more.
This one-time donation is good for the program’s lifetime at Mooseheart. This donation is one that I recommend frequently. It is a great alternate gift option for the Veterans or active duty military people in your life that enjoys a more sentimental and meaningful gift.
