Batavia Moose Lodge

By: Olivia Rivera

I finally received my membership card in the mail! I had never been to a Moose Lodge before so the wonderful women at Moose Charities planned a night out at Batavia Lodge 682. I had a complete tour of the lodge–it’s bigger than what it appears to be from the outside. We had so many laughs and such good company while enjoying Batavia’s Famous Fried Chicken Night. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to stay for the Moose Mingle that night, but I was introduced to some of the members who were all very welcoming. Everyone is so friendly! It felt more like family enjoying dinner together than a members only bar. I’m looking forward to bringing my friends to lodge soon and introduce them to The Moose.

Where are some of your favorite Moose Lodges?

  1. My Grand mother was someone who was closely associated at the Moose Club / MooseHeart society here in Lewistown ,Pennsylvania. I was looking for information on her and your organization as I’m getting older and my children are inquiring about they’re ancestors and what they did there and who these people were… I would greatly appreciate all you tell me of her and this chapter if you would do so kindly. My mother was the youngest child and I am her youngest,.I do have a few memories of this lady but I would appreciate all you could tell me of this organization. Thank you for your time. Her name was Tecla Alvina Larsen Schultz…wife of Michael Joseph Schultz… I’m assuming pap to be a member as well. He played all kinds of musical instruments with my 3 uncle’s and I think they were the entertainment in our local club here… Thanks again all, for your time and inquirey.
