Moose Moments: Gratitude Returned

By. Jenna Johnson

Recently, Moose Charities was gifted with a generous memorial donation to Mooseheart. While the gift itself brought gratefulness to our office, the story sent on along with it truly touched our hearts. The donor wrote in about her sister, Ms. Taylor, who 25 years ago was the freelance graphic artist for Mooseheart. At the time, Ms. Taylor was a single mother of two young children and had been diagnosed with cancer. Having learned this sad news, the Moose family did what it does best – came together to serve those in need within their community. A spaghetti dinner fundraiser was hosted, and the outpour of support brought in $20,000 for Mooseheart’s very own graphic artist. Ms. Taylor sadly passed away, but her sister informed us the monies raised helped her and her estate get things squared away. We were also told that Ms. Taylor’s two children are now both happily married and both extremely successful in their respective careers. It is stories like this that remind us what the Moose is all about – making a difference in the lives of children, seniors and communities, and donations like these that help us continue that mission.
